The Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)
In joint collaboration with the DTI, the ECIC has been invited to participate at the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2015 to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre from 04 – 05 December 2015. FOCAC was in Beijing in 2000, and the 2015 forum hosted in Johannesburg, will be the sixth since its launch. The 2015 Forum goes under the theme, ‘Africa-China Progressing Together: Win-Win Cooperation for Common Development’.
The Forum brings together several African leaders; the African Union (AU), heads of regional organisations and multilateral organisations to participate in the summit, with an objective of signing a new declaration and plan of action that will outline specific measures aimed at consolidating the growing mutual partnership between Africa and China.
ECIC management will also be participating in sub forums of the Summit on trade and project finance programmes, and will also have an exhibition stand sponsored by the DTI.
The exhibition will have companies and business organisations from China and the African continent, more than 80 companies, embassies and state organisations are expected to take part in the FOCAC 2015 exhibitions.
ECIC will be represented at the Exhibition by Lizzy Magagula and Stavious Nkwashu from our Underwriting unit, as well as the Head of Business Development, Portia Gumbo.
