ECIC @ Berne Union 2024

ECIC Acting CEO Ntshengedzeni Gilbert Maphula, and Senior Underwriter Ntombifuthi Priscilla Mdluli represented the Corporation at the Berne Union Spring Meeting 2024 hosted by Eksfin in Oslo, Norway between the 22 – 25 April 2024.  

The title theme for the meeting “Innovation” in its various forms – covered topics ranging from technology to new and innovative products and how different members of our industry adapt to a swiftly changing global environment. The BU also hosted plenary meetings including macro themes and internal BU affairs (initiatives, elections, etc.) as well as ECA committees focusing on overall business trends, organisational updates and themes relating to ECA policy.

The Berne Union is the international association for the export credit and investment insurance industry, a global community of the world’s largest and most active export credit agencies, multilateral financial institutions and private underwriters of credit and political risk insurance who collectively deliver approximately USD 2.6 trillion of payment risk protection to banks, exporters and investors annually, amounting to 12% of global cross-border trade.

ECIC Acting CEO Ntshengedzeni Gilbert Maphula and Senior Underwriter Ntombifuthi Priscilla Mdluli concluded a meeting earlier today with the US EXIM team led by the President and Chair, Ms Reta Jo Lewis.
