ECIC CEO featured on SABC & Mail & Guardian

SABC in association with Mail & Guardian  featured ECIC CEO, Kutoane Kutoane on a webinar titled The Big Africa Debate, as a close off to Africa Month.

The Big Africa Debate was launched on 10 May 2022 on the side-lines of the recent Mining Indaba in Cape Town. The series is hosted on the SABC’s continent-wide Channel Africa and serves as a platform for those at the forefront of Africa’s development agenda to debate issues critical to the continent’s economic growth and development. The discussion was a fitting way to end ‘Africa Month’ as the esteemed panel will debated ‘Private, Public Partnerships in Africa – How to create the foundation for the bankability of transboundary projects’ as well as ‘Building resilience in nutrition: Accelerate Africa’s human capital and socio-economic development’.

ECIC CEO, Kutoane Kutoane posed his voice to this highly topical discussion which tied directly to the ECIC’s extended mandate aimed at facilitating the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Bankability is one of the key stumbling blocks to the successful implementation of transboundary projects and the panel discussed both the challenges which currently exist, as well as potential solutions to overcoming them. The panel was moderated by news personality, and host of the SABC’s African Perspectives, Aldrin Sampear.
