Deloitte hosted the Africa Risk Conference today, which was held at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in Sandton. The theme of the conference was Rising Regulatory and Compliance Risk in Africa where ECIC Acting CRO, John Omollo, was invited to participate as a speaker.
The conference brought together C-Suite Executives from South Africa and the region to discuss their views on risk factors affecting business’s looking to expand their operations on the continent; as well as how business can plan for and manage these risks.
The overall content of the conference was informed and original conveying the message that despite rising challenges, Africa presents attractive commercial opportunities. Drawn by the continent’s promising prospects for strong economic growth and its abundant resources and growing consumer markets, multinational companies are entering and expanding their business footprints in Africa.
